CID Studio drew El Monte as one of two interior lines for XO Jonquet, a residential development above the old fishermen’s quarter on the seafront of Palma de Mallorca. This is the ground-floor duplex: two levels joined by an internal stair, opening on to a planted garden terrace screened from the street, with its own garage below. El Monte is the darker of the two lines – walnut and dark stone against pale travertine, high-contrast geometry, materials chosen to hold everyday life without asking to be maintained.
