Penthouse, El Monte line XO Jonquet, Palma de Mallorca

CID Studio drew El Monte as one of two interior lines for XO Jonquet, a residential development above the old fishermen’s quarter on the seafront of Palma de Mallorca. It is the darker of the two: walnut and dark stone against pale travertine floors, high-contrast geometry, materials chosen to hold everyday life without asking to be maintained. In the penthouse the line meets a pitched ceiling of exposed beams, a skylight and a roof terrace that wraps the building above the masts of the marina. The same palette runs on through the ground-floor apartment and the apartments between them, on flat-ceilinged plans.
